The Bank of Tokyo, Ltd. set up its first representative office in the then Malaya in October 1957 and subsequently obtained its banking license in June 1959, making it the first Japanese bank to provide a full range of banking services.

Notice to Our Valued Customer:

ZERO Interbank GIRO (IBG) Fee

With effect from 13 October 2015, Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ (Malaysia) Berhad Interbank GIRO fee will be ZERO for transactions performed via Internet banking. We strongly encourage you to continue or start using the electronic banking service.

Cheque Processing Fee

With effect from 2nd January 2015(*1), banks will charge a cheque processing fee of 50 sen per transaction on the issuer of the cheque in addition to the existing stamp duty of 15 sen per cheque leaf.

    On 19th March 2014, Bank Negara Malaysia announced that the ‘new’ effective date of the imposition of the 50 sen cheque processing fee will now be 2nd January 2015, instead of 1st April 2014, as announced previously.
