Frankfurt is known as an international financial city and the central city of the European financial brain. The European Central Bank and the headquarters of many German and international banks are located here. Frankfurt is an ideal location for physical distribution because it operates a European hub-airport, and a main motorway, the Autobahn is nearby. More than 53 trade events are held every year at Messe Frankfurt, one of the world's largest trade fairs, which is famous for an international motor show, the ACHEMA world forum, book fair, and other major attractions. Besides being a financial center, Frankfurt is a mecca for chemical industries, and many major German chemical and pharmaceutical companies are located here.
