|Overview||BTMU's Pacific Rim Corporate Banking Division is comprised of the Los Angeles Branch and two representative offices the San Francisco Corporate Banking Representative Office and the Seattle Corporate Banking Office.
Our presence in San Francisco began in September 1959 with the establishment of the former Bank of Tokyo as a depository agency. Over the next two decades, offices were opened by our four legacy banks the Bank of Tokyo, Mitsubishi Bank, Sanwa Bank, and Tokai Bank. Through mergers in 1996, 2001, and 2006, these four legacy offices became The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ, Ltd., San Francisco Corporate Banking Representative Office.
Today the San Francisco Corporate Banking Representative Office offers full commercial banking services through our Los Angeles Branch to Japanese and Asian corporate customers located in the western region of the United States. MUFG’s footprint in California dates from 1864 with the formation of the first predecessor institution of BTMU’s wholly owned subsidiary, Union Bank. Our referral services allow clients to enjoy many of the deposit and global treasury management products offered by Union Bank.
