|Overview||The former Bank of Tokyo opened a Representative Office in Lima In 1961 that was converted to a full branch four years later. In 1988, the branch closed due to the deteriorating security situation. In 2011 BTMU re-opened the representative office in Lima, and in March 2012 its status was upgraded to a sub-branch (under Japanese regulation).
With one of the world's highest GDP growth rates and a stable fiscal policy, Peru is a leader in the international economic community. This resource-rich country has one of the brightest prospects for growth. We work to support the growth of our clients and the development of Peru. BTMU signed an agreement with Proinversion, the Peruvian governmental investment promotion agency, in May 2012.
